Omar Saadeh, Consultant, DER and Grid Modernization 

Omar is a Consultant within Accenture’s Utilities Practice, focusing on Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Grid Modernization. He has over 5 years of industry experience in market analysis, consulting and business development in the utilities space. Prior to joining, Omar reported on emerging technologies and the “grid edge” market at Greentech Media’s research branch covering distributed energy (e.g., solar, storage), microgrids, energy management and back-end grid IT (e.g., DERMS). He has advised multi-national technology, consulting and utility executives on the emerging technology markets, and is cited by media such as Bloomberg, ComputerWorld, The Guardian, Microgrid Knowledge, Utility Dive, Yahoo, etc. 

Omar holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and an M.Eng. in Power Systems from McGill University; he thesis focused on the economic optimization of DER in microgrids and was funded by Hydro Quebec.
